New York – The 24th Annual Ultimate Summertime Party presented by News Corporation will take place from 7:00 –10:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24 at New York City’s only outdoor amusement park, Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink in Central Park.Hosted by the Manhattan Society, the junior volunteer committee at the NYC Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1,000are expected to turn out for this annual party of the season toraised over $150,000 in support of critical MS research initiatives and programs and services for the more than 7,000 NYC residents living with MS, their friends and families.

Help for Orphans International has expanded greatly over the past year. We have built and renovated schools in Kenya, improving the daily lives and futures for many children. Additionally, we have generated donations of books, clothing and food for children in Africa, India and South America, without which they have no hope that the course of their lives will change.

They’re back! Those little yellow ducks are returning to New York City again this summer to help Special Olympics New York raise the bucks! On August 6, 2008. Approximately 25,000 rubber ducks will take the plunge into the East River and race from the Brooklyn Bridge to the South Street Seaport for the 2008 Million Dollar Duck Race. The Komen New York City Race for the Cure® is the premierefundraising event for the Greater New York City Affiliate of SusanG. Komen for the Cure. The first Race was held in Central Park in1991 with a few thousand women participating. The Race has grownsteadily and dramatically since.

LongHouse Reserve will host its annual Summer Gala at their 16-acre East Hampton grounds on Saturday, July 19, 2008, honoring two distinguished members of the arts community, Martin Puryear with the Long House Medal of 2008 and H. Peter Stern with the first LongHouse Art Leadership Award. Puryear, whose 30 years of work was recently exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, and H. Peter Stern,chairman, president and co-founder of the Storm King Art Center,America’s leading outdoor sculpture park, have made inspirational contributions to the evolution and preservation of sculpture. The evening event also will highlight LongHouse’s permanent collection of works from well-known artists Yoko Ono, Miquel Barceló, and Dale Chihuly, among others.

QSAC is turning 30 this year! It is quite an amazing number considering how little one knew about autism back in 1978 when the incidence was 1:10,000. The founders of QSAC were true visionaries and QSAC has been delivering top quality services to the autism population longer than most other organizations in the area.
